01 · Selected Projects
A selection of real products I've engineered across mobile, web and backend. Each represents a different kind of engineering challenge — from real-time systems to booking platforms and safety products.
Restaurant SaaS
Restaurant Operating System with real-time table availability, reservations, secure payments and customer notifications.
Mobility · Ride Hailing
Ride-hailing platform focused on reliability and safety — smooth booking flows, real-time trip tracking and driver-first ergonomics.
Safety · Mobile
Women's safety platform with SOS alerts, live tracking, safe route planning and silent camera for evidence capture.
Messaging · Privacy
End-to-end encrypted messaging platform with one-to-one chats, groups, voice/video calls and status updates.
Booking · Marketplace
Salon and wellness discovery platform — discover, compare and book services with a mobile-first booking experience.
02 · Engineering Expertise
I work as a true full-stack engineer — comfortable shipping native mobile apps, designing responsive web interfaces, architecting backend systems, and wiring everything together with clean APIs.
03 · Experience
A track record of hands-on engineering across freelance, employment and founder-led environments — from writing the first line of code through deployment and team leadership.
2024 — Present
Leading engineering and product delivery. Building products end-to-end across React Native, React, Node.js and PHP. Mentoring a team of 15+ developers and interns with a focus on clean architecture, maintainable code, and real-world product outcomes.
2023 — 2024 · Bangalore
Contributed to digital products across domains. Built Android-based international payment systems and ML-driven solutions. Worked on frontend, backend and integrations for production clients.
2022 — Present · Remote
Delivering web and mobile applications to clients globally — from architecture and development through deployment, iteration and handover. Comfortable owning entire product lifecycles.
2022 · Highlight
Built Gameruzz (esports fantasy platform) through to Shark Tank India Season 2 selection stage. Handled tech, product pitch readiness and UX.
2019 — 2025 · Academics
Diploma in CSE (82.17%) and B.Tech in CSE (9 CGPA), alongside parallel real-world project building and freelance work.
04 · Technical Approach
Principles I consistently apply when building products — informed by real projects, failed startups, and lessons from actually shipping and maintaining software over time.
I start by understanding what the product actually needs to do for its users. Good engineering is the means — not the end. Technical decisions follow from product outcomes.
I prefer simple, layered designs that don't paint the team into a corner. Reasonable defaults, clear boundaries, and modules that can grow independently as the product scales.
Clear REST contracts, meaningful status codes, consistent payload shapes and good documentation. The API contract is the product surface for other developers and teams.
Native-feeling mobile apps, fast page loads, well-sized bundles, thoughtful caching, and efficient queries. Users feel slow apps — and they leave.
Proper authentication, parameterized queries, input validation, HTTPS everywhere and principle of least privilege. Security is a baseline — not a feature.
Experience connecting payment gateways, mapping providers, messaging platforms, third-party REST & GraphQL APIs, and building WebSocket/event-driven systems.
05 · My Journey
Occasional writing about building software, product lessons from failed startups, mobile architecture decisions, and engineering culture.
Long read · 30+ min
A candid timeline of failures, restarts and what I actually learned from building and closing multiple startups before TableTaps.
Engineering · TBD
What I've learned from shipping React Native apps across ride-hailing, safety, messaging and booking products — state, navigation and offline patterns.
06 · About
I'm Ashish Kumar, known online as Decoder Ashish.
I build mobile, web and backend products across React Native, React, Next.js, Node.js and PHP. I enjoy taking products from architecture and development through deployment and iteration.
I work remotely with companies, startups and teams around the world. If you're building something real — especially around mobility, SaaS platforms or real-time systems — I'd love to hear about it.
