About
I build products that actually ship.
I'm Ashish Kumar — known online as Decoder Ashish. I'm a React Native & Full Stack Engineer who takes products from architecture through deployment and iteration.
Who I am
I build mobile, web and backend products across React Native, React, Next.js, Node.js and PHP. I enjoy taking products from architecture and development through deployment and iteration.
I work remotely with companies, startups and teams around the world. If you're building something real — especially around mobility, SaaS platforms or real-time systems — I'd love to hear about it.
My approach is hands-on and product-focused. I've been writing code, shipping applications and leading engineering teams long enough to know that the best technology decisions almost always follow from clear product outcomes.
Journey
A summary of how I got here
An engineering-focused look at the path that shaped how I build software today.
Early Engineering
Learning the fundamentals
Started coding around 2020, writing the first HTML and progressing through web fundamentals, then moving into backend languages and frameworks. First product: a vegetable delivery platform that taught me the basics of end-to-end software.
First Production Products
Shipping real apps
Built Gameruzz (esports fantasy platform) through to Shark Tank India Season 2 selection stage — managing tech architecture, UX and product pitch readiness. Built Android payment systems and ML-driven solutions at Inceptron Technologies in Bangalore.
Founder & Leadership
Decoders Entity & Team Leadership
Founded Decoders Entity to build production products across React Native, React, Node.js and PHP. Grew to lead and mentor a team of 15+ developers and interns — focusing on clean architecture, maintainable code, and real-world product outcomes.
Freelance & Global
Working with teams worldwide
Delivered full lifecycle projects to global clients remotely — from discovery and scoping through architecture, development, deployment and handover. Comfortable owning entire product lifecycles end-to-end.
Engineering Principles
What guides my work
Principles I apply consistently when designing systems, writing code, and leading engineering work.
Product outcomes first
Engineering decisions follow from clear product outcomes. I start by understanding what the product needs to do for its users, then work backwards to the architecture and stack.
Keep architecture simple
Simple, layered designs with clear boundaries and reasonable defaults. Systems that don't paint the team into a corner and can grow in stages as the product scales.
Clean API contracts
Clear REST contracts, meaningful status codes, consistent payload shapes and good documentation. The API contract is the product surface for other developers and teams.
Security is a baseline
Proper authentication, parameterized queries, input validation, HTTPS everywhere and principle of least privilege. Security isn't a feature — it's table stakes.
